Hi,

planning to buy my 10 year old nephew an electric guitar. His height is around 1.30m-1.35m.

Which one would be more suitable as a present for him? The Squier mini Strat or the Squier Strat Bullet?

Thanks in advance!

To go a little further on the subject than those two options...

First, I'd go for a full size guitar - the minis may a) give the guy a feeling you think of him as a kid, and b) his friends may think the same. Plus he will grow out of it pretty fast, and you need to buy him a new one... 8)
BTW, Squier also has a Jaguar option; 24" short scale would be nice now and keep with him when he grows.

Second, I'd make sure the chosen guitar is playable and properly set up - if you don't know how to judge these, buy the guitar from a reputable shop or take someone who knows with you. Demand low action without buzzes - that's what Squier entry level guitars were designed for.

On those baselines & thinking about the (loud) years to come, your budget plan might be doubled (or tripled). Jaguar or maybe an Affinity Strat (possibly an Affinity pack with Frontman amp - very reasonably priced) instead of that Bullet, and including the price of proper setup etc.

But, if your budget is tight, my vote on the Bullet.

I agree on the Bullet. If he doesn't have an amp then a Strat Pack would get him both.
