I have a Squier Strat and I have had only 1 problem with it in the past 6 years I have had it. And it wouldn't really be considered a problem.

They've had so many, it's hard to say. Their best though have NOT been the usual line of strats and teles. The original Squier Tele showmasters were amazing, the Esprit (released and discontinued in 06) was phenominal, as was the M-80 (also released and discontinued in 06), as well as the other guitars in the ill-fated Master series of that year. Squier's Vista series has developed somewhat of a cult following for their quality and "different" designs. The Series 24 guitars were also some of my absolute favorites. IMO the Series 24 line w/ their Guild designs w/ a Squier price were one of the best values that Fender has ever offered thier customers. The ONLY reason these lines don't sell to well is because people often look at the label and IMMEDIATELY assume that Squier doesn't have the quality of the more expensive name brands out there and automaticly ignore the more expensive Squier for a more inferior guitar w/ a more recognized name.

The Master Series (which included the M-80, the Espirit, and some sort of Tele) was quite nice.

The originals, of course, as someone said.

The Squier '51 gets a lot of attention, also. I see them selling for $200 on eBay, when they were only $100 new. Apparently people like the necks.

Squier 51 and Tele.....I own the 51 and it plays and sounds way more than the $125 I paid for it.....

I have played some Basses too that seemed well made for the $

At the moment, for the price:quality ratio, the Deluxe.

Wow...look at that bridge. It's better than the one I've got on my MiJ Fender...

I saw another post and it had a 3 million dollar Squier in it. Because it costs more it probably is better.

Hehehehehe......depends on what you're doing and how far you're willing to go.

If you're using a tremolo bar....sure.....if you're not?

Nothing wrong with those Squier's. In fact, I thought the bridge on the Squier Deluxe I tried was better in terms of hardware vs. the MiM models.

I also couldn't touch a guitar with jumbo frets without really forking out the cash on the MiM model.

(It also helps that I've got spare parts lying around....)

:P

I purchased a Squier Deluxe a week ago and I will say I really like it. It holds it's own against a number of higher priced guitars and looks great. I have a white one like the one pictured above. I also own an American Strat Deluxe and although the American is better, I don't know if the difference in price is worth it - at least not at my ability level of playing.

The Squier Deluxe has to rank as one of the better deals out there right now.

I've got a 1983 Squire MIJ Strat, and I much prefer it over many Fenders I've played. The feel and sound are just right, although I'm thinking of replacing the neck PuP with a humbucker to allow greater variations in tone. I don't know though... So torn...

Sorry for the blurry picture, but you get the idea...

I have a 96' Squier Strat, I threw EMG actives and a set of Zakk Wyldes on it and beat the snot out of it.
I love it.
