First of all, I'm a guitarslinger on a budget(the most I've thrown down on a guitar,I currently have 2, is $200 for my Acoustic). This is a big reason why I like the Squier brand, along w/ being a Fender brand. I'm a Southern boy, so the sound I'm lookin' to play is more Country/Southern Rock.

Now, my dilemma. I want to add a (Affinity)Tele & a (Bullet)Strat to my guitar arsenal but I keep going back & forth on which one to buy next. The Strat is $129 vs $179(although it might end up being more 'cause I'm gonna special order a black pickguard on a 2-tone burst) for the Tele, so that's one plus for the Strat. I know the Tele is a mainstay in Country music but I'm seein' more & more Strats poppin' up in videos today & Brad Paisley has one listed on his `Road Gear` page on his website.

So what's y'alls' thoughts?

I have an affinity tele and absolutely love it. I played a bullet strat and an affinity strat and went with the affinity. If you are willing to shell out the cash for an affinity tele why not shell it out for an affinity strat?

I have a CV 60's, red with the rosewood fretboard. It was well worth it. If I had a choice to do it again, I would go for the CV 50's in LPB with the maple fretboard. Either is a WIN! I have the trem floated and it stays in perfect tune. Great sound through my MIII.

I would always go with a tele over a strat, but that's just MHO. Also would seem to work better with your style of music. Don't think that they aren't also a very versatile guitar. They can cover a lot of ground.

Go with the Affinity Telecaster. I just got the Butterscotch model recently and it's a absolute killer guitar . I'm pushing 54 and have been playing for 40 years and I have to say that it's one of the best guitars that I have had the pleasure of both owning and playing. It can definitely hold it's own in a band situation, trust me on this one.

Play both and buy the one that suits your style and has the feel you like. Simple as that!
