Picked this project guitar off of CL for 15 dollars, could'nt tell from the poor pics what it was seller said squier guitar.when I first saw it I knew it was a 51 but my God I had never expected this much abuse.Aside from no pickguard, control plate or controls some one had painted the fret board with latex paint!!the pup cover and saddles slatered with purple nail polish amd little jewels glued all over it.It took a couple months of searching and I finally found a pickguard but had to make my own control plate out of some stainless steel, those two parts are hard to find.Inspired by a 57 chevy my Mom had when I was a kid I painted her put brass saddles ,roller string trees and tusq nut. Here are some before and after shots beware extreme guitar abuse!!ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Wow! Talk about raising the dead. That thing was about as far gone as I've seen. You did a Very Fine Job. Kudos

That's a beautiful paint job on that '51, thinking of something similar, perhaps Lake Placid blue, sometime soon.

Wow, galleta loco--great job! You took something most people would have considered a lost cause and transformed it into something beautiful. The Squier 51 is such a cool guitar. Congrats on bringing this one back from the dead. 8)
