Hi

I just decided to pick up on the guitarplaying again, and started looking around for tips and info. Have not been so into the technical details on the guitars earlier, but I now wanted to find out a bit more about my guitar, and found this community.

I bought a Korean Squier II strat in the early nineties, with serialno M1006809.
From what I figure from the serialno, it was built in 1991.

Is this a decent guitar?
Does anyone have any technical specs on it?

I think it is a quite good guitar to play, and it stays tuned for ages.
The only trouble I've had was the pots going bad, so they were replaced(don't know what kind was installed, i ordered them from the shop I got the guitar from).
The only thing I am not totally happy with is the sound. It sounds quite ok clean, but overdriven I do not seem to get decent sound, so I consider replacing the pickguard with a prewired one as I see many have improved the guitars this way.
What about a EMG David Gilmour DG 20 loaded pickguard?
I'm a huge Pink Floyd /David Gilmour fan, so that would be cool :D

Tried to post the pics here, but they were too big, so I linked to them instead:

Yes, I am also considering the dragonfire as the EMG is quite expensive.
Don't know how much difference in sound between those two..

I owned a Squier II for years, same model except pearl white. They also made a humbucker model.Bought it early to mid 90s. Sold it about a year ago because I have too many strats,,mostly USA. But that squier II was one of the best I've ever owned. It came with stock alnico pickups by the way,, and they sounded great.
