Hey, quick question here.
Can you fit a humbucker into the neck pickup position of a Squier Standard Telecaster?

I removed the pickguard and saw that there is room for PROBABLY a humbucker.
IF a humbucker can indeed be placed there, what size? A "regular" sized humbucker or one of those mini humbuckers?

I'm planning to install a Gibson '59. B-) I have my hopes up!

if you have taken it apart and a HB will fit you will have to change the PG to one that will accomodate the pickup, these should be readily available at reasonable prices, infact if you google squier standard fat tele that should give you the answer, they did make one with a HB in the neck position looks full size to me so you shouldnt have a problem.

Hope this helps

Al

The Fat Tele Std. did have a full size HB in it. Just remember F-spaced Dimarzio's are not Fender spaced, it's for Floyd Rose equipped, Trembucker is SD's spacing for Tremolo and actually refers more to bigby types due to a wider string spacing on both types.

Hey thanks for that info, IdahoRed. I never really knew what the "F" in "F-spaced" meant, until now. Anyway, not to worry, because I'm not a user of any tremolo system. I have always played guitars with fixed bridges.

I have a friend who's selling a set of genuine Gibson '59 PAFs. I'm interested to buy the neck HB and install it into my Std. Tele. Do you think string spacing will be a problem?

Take a ruler and make some measurements.

Good tip bluesky and check to see how deep the mounting tab is on the PAF I had to drill deeper holes to compensate for tabs on a Vintage HB

It always baffles me when people write in and say "I have Brand X guitar. What is my string spacing?"
