hey! i just had a few questions about the standard series. From what i understand its a step up from the affinity and the bullet, but a step down from the CV and deluxe series?

There's a guy who sells a hand painted monterey strat on a site called Sacrificeguitars.com for only $300. You can see these in action on youtube. Just search up monterey strats, he's got a bunch of videos advertising the price in the title. He has a midnight version, which i think would look fantastic with black hardware and a gold bridge/jackplate. I really love the beautiful look of the monterey, and all other versions of the giutar are close to $2000, with the CS version being $7000 (and only 200 were made lol).

Anyway so he basically paints a squire standard body and sends it out. I've been in touch with the guy who makes them, but this forum is a fountain of knowledge and I just wanted a few questions clarified.

Is the body of this squier full size? I know a few squiers have thinner bodies, but i'm not exactly sure which ones. I'd like to replace the trem block, and even though i don't play with a backplate i don't want it sticking out the bottom

How does the quality of the body match up to the other fender guitars? I've heard that the MIA strats use less pieces of wood, but what does this actually mean? How does a 2 piece body differ from something else?

I just want some facts about the body specifically. I plan on removing the neck and all the hardware for high quality parts that i have already, so it will be somewhat of a frankenstrat. all my parts are fender licensed, and fit on my current strat so i assume that they will transfer seamlessly. I've been hearing relaly good things about squiers as a platform for other projects.

thanks!
Adam

i think the standard is a thinner body, most of your parts should fit, but if i am right in saying squiers use a narrower bridge fitting, therefore you may have to do a bit of refitting "filling and drilling holes" for it to fit. you say this guitar has gold bridge and jackplate, which means he surely changed them anyway, you may want to find out what make they are, some import replacements are very good quality to start with possibly as good as fender licenced

ah, sorry.

I would replace the stock hardware with black/gold hardware is what i meant. All the stuff it comes with is the stock chrome

He also has a version with a GFS body, but i've heard mixed things about these.

And the standard is a little thinner? that's dissapointing...

The Squier Standard body is not thinner than a Fender Strat, Affinity and Bullets are smaller.
