I recently bought a squier telecaster from a second hand shop and im intrested in finding out some things about it, like what model it is or its age. the serial number is ics09xxxxxx and i cant find anywere were what ics means as ic means it was made in indonisa but what does the s stand for? On the neck it also states it is a telecaster custom. I'd be grateful if anyone could help me make more sense of it as i'm new to telecasters and i hve always had a les paul so what i know about telecasters is quite bare.

Don't fret! I also have the same serial number, but mine is ICS11xxxxxx. I read from somewhere before that it's practically the same as the "IC" serial numbers, but I think "S" stands for "special run" (or something like that).
You may want to cross-reference this information with that on the internet. I'm sure it's around there somewhere because it's where I read it.

Hmm Tele Custom? Probably a Squier version of the '72 Fender Tele. The one with chrome-covered humbuckers.

guitars before 09 were ic after that icf for fender so ics would be squire. they were made at the cort guitar factory in indonesia. nice to know your Squire was made in the same factory that makes Fender's Too 8)
