This is more out of curiosity than concern, But i recently acquired a squier as a supplement to a trade and it has no indication whatsoever as to where or when it was made. Not only that, the Fender logo doesn't appear on the back of the tuners, or on the neck plate. (is that normal?)

It was suggested on another forum that I take off the neck and look for a serial # at the heel or in the neck pocket, so I did but there was nothing. I don't think it's a partscaster, because when i removed the neck there was a tan line from being in place for a long time, and sawdust fell out indicating that it hadn't been removed since it was assembled. There is a small spot near the heel of the neck where you can see the residue of a sticker that had been removed, but it's very small and I don't think it would have been big enough to hold a serial # - it looks more like the "made in XXXX" stickers that most import guitars have.

I also removed the electronics, and didn't see any red flags of this being pieced together. Everything was wired properly and in a professional manner, which 4/5 times isn't the sign of a build-it-yourself guitar.

I took several pictures, hopefully someone here can give me some clue as to what I have.

Thank you in advance

-Mike

PS: Sorry if these are excessively large

I don't claim to be an expert but at first glance there are a couple of things that throw up some red flags.
I have never seen a body route that was that bad on a squire. I'm sure there might be some out there but looks too rough.
I've never seen pickups with that kind of bottom on them before. they are usually plastic.
The complete absence of any serial or country printed is also odd. The only thing I can think of would be if the guitar was part of a player pack. I heard some of those didn't come with serials.
as for the tuners, some had an F on them, some said fender. Some were made by Ping, a plain tuner isn't a big indicator.
Usually, someone trying to pull a fast one with a fake will print up a Fender US made decal and try to pass it as MIA. Squires? not so much.
I'm afraid short of it possibly being a neck from a squire and the body from something else It's probably a player pack version. With no markings in the neck pocket there's no way to tell for sure.
There might be someone along who can say for sure.

I think it is a Affinity or SE series. the tuners are not stock. Black knobs with white pickup covers is not either. The serial number would have been on the back of the neck but was removed along with the stratocaster logo. they come off easily with steel wool and leave no marks. Looks like a Radio Station Concert Promotion giveaway. It could have some value if you know the band that Autographed it

I conccur it to be a Affinity Series. Years ago I bought a simular guitar in a Squier starting set for my son. Indeed the knobs ought to be white.

The signatures on the pickguard is the answer to the riddle.
Your Squier Bullet is a Promo presensted to a winner and signed by a particular Artist or Artists in your case.I have one with the signature rubbed off.

Who is yours signed by?

Being it has the larger head stock rules out it being an SE from a strat pack. It could be an Affinity from a pack. The older SE's had the serial number on a small dime-sized sticker on the back of the neck, but they had the smaller head stock and skunk stripe, like my 2000 SE.

My Strat Has the same crude routings as yours.Neck and pickups are identicle to mine.I pretty much have the same guitar as yours except mine is blue. Not quite Daphne Blue but close. The thickness of the body is thicker than Affinity,So that rules that one out.
My guitar really plays Great with low action and an awsome tone.Frets are another story though.Could use a good dressing.I'm really happy the way this guiart plays and set up so I will keep it stock.maybe the bad routing has something to do with the great tone...???I wonder if these could be throw away American or MIM bodies since the routing are so bad.I wish my signature was still in tact,I wonder who signed mine.

Rock on fellas and fellets!!!!Easy Everyone.ALOHA!!!
