If I paid the $6000 or whatever they cost, would Fender put a Squier logo on my guitar? After all, the own the brand name. My first guitar was a red Squier ST-331 with a single humbucker and Gibson scale and a black pickguard. I would like to have the CS build me a guitar based on my neck, with the same 24.75" scale with a twist: red Lace Sensor pickups, in an HSS setup. I'd also add the regular 3 Strat tone and volume knobs, and a 3 way coil tap switch for the humbucker and a killswitch. The output jack would be on the pickguard like on mine. It would have a regular 5 position switch, which mine obviously doesn't have. Here's a picture of mine (nevermind the dust on the headstock, it has been restrung and cleaned since I took the picture:

Maybe Brad has the answer: Would Fender build a CS Squier Strat? This is probably the only CS Fender that I would actually order. It would be a super cool guitar and one of a kind. The pickguard would be a little crowded, but I don't care. The guitar would be so damn cool. I don't see why they wouldn't build one, as Fender owns the Squier brand name. If they won't build one, there goes my dream and there goes a potential sale. I'd have the most expensive new Squier in history, and a potential collectors' item (Not that I'd ever sell it...) So Fender employees: Is this a possibility? It would be several years before I could afford it but I would seriously consider having one built if the Fender CS is willing to build it. If they won't build it, then why? It would be a sale and a huge profit. It's not like I'm asking for an Ibanez or Gibson decal, just a Fender.

Hey there, I admire the setup you want, sounds really cool. Maybe you should check with Mike in the custom shop forum.

Why not just buy a Squier Decal and put it on, or have an artist handpaint it on? Fender owns Squier but you will never get GM to put a Corvette name plate on a Buick, no matter what you paid them to do it.

Seriously the Custom Shop does not really build custom guitars per se, it's not like you can go visit and lay the exact specs out you want, and watch it being built. Not unless you're on the charts and touring. But then you don't pay for guitars so it's not an issue. There are thousands of luthiers who could do what you want for a lot less than 6,000.00

Clearly you know nothing about the Custom Shop. That's exactly what the Custom Shop will do. They will build virtually anything you want as long as you are willing to pay the price. Do a little research.

You confuse two things here: the factory tour and the Fender custom shop. You seem to be talking about the factory tour where you can have your guitar assembled. They call it "The American Design Experience at the Fender Visitor Center". This is not the custom shop.

when you say Custom Shop, are you referring to the guitars that are built and sold under the Fender Custom Shop moniker? The ones that you can buy at GC or MF or Sam Ash? Or are you referring taking a trip to Corona California, walking into the factory, and laying out exactly what you want, even getting paint that is not currently available? Or ordering from a certified dealer exactly what you want... Because those, are 2 different animals.

OR THIS sold at MF from the Fender Custom Shop

Custom shop and Master Built are TWO different things.

You'd want a master built guitar...

You can't walk into the Custom Shop as a normal customer. The only way is through a dealer. Maybe if you're very lucky, Mike invites you for a coffee but I think this is as far as you can get unless you're famous.

Cheers
