Just put a "GFS Vintage split coil pickup" in the bridge position of my Squier tele custom and holy crap did it wake it up!!!!!The original tone was a little muddy for my taste,I went from "Yea this guitars okay" to "freakin awesome".I will never understand how GFS sells such amazing pickups at prices that cheap. Now i'm gonna get a set for my Jagmaster. I've been playing American instruments for years and is it just me or are these Squier's great for the money!

I've said it once, and I'll say it again, after buying 5 Squiers (and 1 Schecter), I can honestly say its hard to consider paying more than $400 for a guitar after I have found these great guitars for well under that price. I have been playing for about 20 years, and $200 guitars weren't like this back then...

your right back in the day i'd laugh at them ! My 51 got me hooked,For my taste,I think the extra you get with an American just is not worth it, for me. Yes Squier takes short cuts, but most of the shortcuts can be changed by the buyer. A lot of them have alder bodies. I have Squiers Thinline and it is great!

I remember paying $450 for a Lotus Rhoads V-copy back in the day, but these days you could get a real Jackson Rhoads V for that price....These kids today don't know how much they have it made

BTW, Welcome to the forum dude....
