ok guys im having a problem with my squier standard strat ive only owned it for 2 days ive also only been playing for 2 days i got it from musicians friend the low E and the A string emit a weird ringing tone that sort of travels up the neck when you pluck them without fretting a note they are stock strings could they be beat already? also i have not messed around with anything on it except for the turning the tuners to put the guitar in tune it is in tune but those two strings seem to have lost their proper tension if i turn the tuners so that the string stops ringing the ringing stops but now the guitar is waay out of tune what should i do??

Save yourself some money and learn to do a setup yourself:

It could be a neck problem that can be fixed by adjusting the truss rod also. Was it like this from the start, meaning when you got it? Try looking down the neck to see if it is inline, or if there is a curve to the strings that follows the curve of the neck.

You can always send it back and explain the problem to musicians friend and they will send you a new one or a refund.

Or try a guitar shop but try and get some recommendations from players that you know. Or look up authorized Fender Repair Centers. If it is a faulty guitar warranty may cover it.

Sounds like to me your getting string rattle caused by the string being slightly too low, if so tighten the screws on the saddles of the rattling string a half turn. It may solve your problem. But FIRST you may need check your truss rod to see if getting the proper amount of string relief. If your not comfortable doing this you may want to take it to an expert for a setup, like has been mentioned.
heres the setup link http://www.fender.com/support/articles/ ... etup-guide

Good luck, it certainly isn't rocket science

That's right. I taught myself. It's not rocket science. Learn like the other did.

Okay look. 2 days into playing is too soon to tear into all the different steps for a set up. At the factory the guitar was set up, intonation, truss rod, string height, etc. usually with fender bullet strings. I bought a Squire Affinity in its factory box. It was in tune when I pulled it out of the packaging. So, this guitar shouldn't have any problems. It is quite possible that the guitar suffered some extreme conditions coming from the factory or from MF to you. This could ruin the guitar beyond repair. Call Musicians friend and see what's involved in a return. They should be happy to help you. They may tell you of a local store that does Fender repair/ warranty work and have you take it there or email you a shipping label to send it back to them. Don't sink anymore money into it. Warranty and return policies are in place for just such issues.

Have you ever bothered to read the disclaimer in the Fender owner's manual?

A Word About Factory Specs and Setup …

Your guitar is solidly built with the best materials and craftsmanship. As part of its final assembly, we’ve
hand-adjusted it and set it up to Fender factory specs, which give you the best possible playing action. Like all instruments made of wood, however, your guitar may have experienced changes brought on by exposure to different temperatures and humidity levels. This happens naturally with time and changes in your guitar’s actual geographic location. In any case, when you receive it, the condition of the playing action can be affected by:
• Amount of time between final assembly and shipping from Fender.
• Amount of time between shipping from Fender and arrival at shipping destination.
• Method of shipment—e.g., trucking, airfreight, submarine, llama, etc.
• Climate conditions during shipping.
• Climate conditions at shipping destination.
• Amount of time in stock at dealer before purchase.
• Whether or not the dealer has performed its own product setup on the instrument.

Important note!

When you first get your guitar, don’t be alarmed if the playing action is no longer set to factory
specs! Like we said, it’s natural for a guitar’s setup to change due to the factors just listed. Stay
calm and read on …

Your guitar has many adjustment points that let you compensate for changes that might happen between final assembly and when you received it. If the action is higher or lower than you prefer, for example, this manual describes how to set up, adjust and maintain
your guitar so that its playing condition is optimal for you. Of course, if you’d rather not mess with it yourself—which is perfectly OK—you can always take your guitar to an Authorized Fender Service Center.

Other important note!

Initial standard setup and adjustment of an instrument and its parts at time of purchase are considered normal dealer product preparation and are not covered by the Fender warranty. On receipt and acceptance of the instrument, the consumer assumes all
responsibility for setup, adjustment and maintenance.

In simple language, the OP's problem is not a warranty issue and Fender will not replace the guitar. All that is required is a new setup.

Thank you for posting that info. But, the OP would need to return it to Musicians Friend, preferably after talking to their customer support. The only reason I suggest this rather than suggest a couple of twists of an allen wrench is because I am not convinced, based on the OP's description, that it's just fret buzz. I had an Ibanez with a similar ringing sound. It didn't bother me so I never really traced it.
To the OP, If you feel inclined to try an adjustment search youtube. there are a ton of great videos that show you what to do and often explain why.
