im an advanced beginner... and still haven't got to mess with the technical aspects of my guitar...until now...I wanted the whammy bar to be a little more easy going and less difficult to move...so instead of the stock 3 springs it came with i removed one making it easy to play around with... i want to know if this will have an negative or even bad effects on my guitar?

You might need to intonate the guitar after removing springs. to intonate the guitar, just do a search.

Depending on the string gauge you are using, taking 1 spring out could affect how the tremolo sits above the guitar. You don't want it to be angled too much. Another idea, instead of taking out 1 spring completely, you may want to look into adjusting the tremolo spring claw distance from the edge of the tremolo cavity route, cause you could loosen that up a bit and change the tremolo's feel without overly compensating the bridges placement in relation to the bocy....

thanks a lot guys... you actually helped a lot. i put the spring back and loosened the screws like you suggested...its easier to move and i did in fact intonate the guitar aswel...I noticed that when it only had 2 springs it would go out of tune after hitting just two or three power chords...not fun when your trying to jam with friends.

thanks again
