i cant comment on trohman tele as i havent picked one up yet but i have to agree on the classic vibes i have the 50's in white and its an amazing guitar and superb value for money, there are some who would beg to differ and argue that it would never square up to their fenders, my answer is pick one up and play it before you make that assumption, when the sales guy pointed to it and said give that a go i gave him that "but its a squier" look, he laughed and said just try it. i was hooked, since the purchase i have copper shielded it, and thats pretty much all i wish to do to it for now still makes me smile whenever i pick it up.

Most people who bash Squier really do not know what they are talking about, they either haven't tried a higher end Classic Vibe, Vintage Modified or Signature Series, or if they do, they plug it into an amp with the same settings as what they would use for their prized $2000 strat and believe that they are validated when it doesn't sound the same.

The pickups on the CV 60's strat are high output and are different than any pickup that I have ever heard in any other strat. But just because it is different does not mean that it is bad. You can play around with your amp and get some amazing tones out of a CV 60's strat. I still believe that the middle pickup on my Cv 60's strat gives me one of the coolest sounds I have ever gotten out of a guitar. Perfect for a heavier blues tone. It's a sound that I would have gladly paid five times as much for. But I get it from a Squier that I bought used on Craigslist for $180. Not only do I get a great sound, it feels great to me. Set up low, with no buzz, great neck with no sharp fret edges.

It makes me laugh to see how many people will turn their nose up at a Squier without actually taking the time to see what Squier lovers are raving about.

That's funny. I noticed the same discrepancy between photos. The one that was shipped to me by Guitar Center has the darker headstock that matches the color on the back of the neck as well.

thanks for that :)
