I just purchased a 1998 Squire Super Sonic Vista series. The pickup selector switch is not working correctly. What would be the correct replacement switch ?

Thanks - Gary

I cannot say for sure since I do not have one of the guitars in question, but from the pics I have seen of them, I think you could just use a Les Paul style pickup selector switch. But before you get one of those, are you sure its the switch that is bad and not the wiring at the switch? Check that out if possible, because that may save you from having to get a new switch if something just needs to be resoldered a bit...

The switch on my Squier stopped working, and it turned out to just be gunked up. I opened it up, cleaned it out with a qtip, used the other end of the qtip to get a little wd-40 on it, and now it works like a dream.

Gunk & oil can prevent the metal parts from making proper contact.
