Should be the same. Why, looking to switch it out?

Mounting screw hole patterns may be different.

I don't believe so.
I have heard that Fender parts don't allign up with Squier parts correctly.

The pickguards aren't as bad as some other parts, basically just some new mounting holes may need to be drilled. Now if you were thinking of putting a Fender neck or bridge/Tremolo on a Squier, thats where you'll run into some issues....

I changed out my Squire pickguard for a 4 ply Fender white pearl pickguard and the only problem was the screw holes didn't line up at three locations but weren't far enough off to redrill so I just ran the screws down and made them fit.

Ok. So...New necks=problems.
Yea, I couldn't figure out why you wouldn't be able to put a Fender Strat pickguard on a Squier Strat. But if I shoudl run into some issues, all I would really need to do is drill some new holes...right?
