Does anyone on the forum have any experience with a training aid called Power Chord Trainer?

Not sure. Looks pretty new. One friend told me it was not worth it and
to just practice. I'll just be practicing old school to learn my power chords.

Might be good for some new students but I'm going forward without it.

Power chords are made up of usually 2 or 3 strings and the most common are in the form of E or A in the CAGED system, but not limited to them, actualy the CAGED system all 5 forms C-A-G-E-D can be made into power chords all the way up the neck.

a "power" chord is just the root-fifth-octave. Example: "A" "power chord"- E string 5th fret-A string 7th fret-D string 7th fret. Know you roots and alternative chords first. I would suggest in to studying some scales and modes , along with some theory. That way these terms make sense.

Good advice for certain. Learn the major pentatonic scales also and use them as a building block. Theory is more important than you'd ever believe. Just learning to stay in time is one of the basic skills.
