Dear everybody!!

I just bought the following setup:

Squire Fender Telecaster (Sunburst)
Fender Mustang 1 am
Planet waves cable

I am getting lots of buzzing through the amp. When I touch any of the metalwork, the buzzing reduces dramatically. What could be wrong?? Is it a poorly connected ground/earth wire?? What#s the ebst way to solve this?

Thanks in advance.

.

Metalwork !!!! on the guitar ? or at the amp? If the answer is at the guitar, you have a bad ground in the guitar. You should open chrome plate and check wire. Also should have a wire from brigge to the guitar ground

Do you live in an older house? Mine was made in the 30's and the outlets not grounded. I had to ground the ones I use to play to kill the buzz.

I have a Squire Tele and Mustang 1 also, although I am not sure what cable, and I have the same problem, so it might have something to do with the brand of guitar or amp even though they are both Fender, but I've only had it for a month or so, so my advice probably isn't the best

It could be something as simple as the cord. But in older houses the wiring is usually the culprit. Try different outlets in other rooms as other appliances/lights can and will cause noise. If this does not help then take both the amp and guitar to the shop unless you feel comfortable checking for a bad solder joint. The problem will be with the guitar more than likely if it's not the house wiring or cord. There are devices available to help with house wiring to reduce noise like this one.
