This was my first electric guitar, I got it about 17 years ago. It's been packed away for years now and I decided to pull it back out to restore it a bit. It needs a setup, new tone pot and selector switch. my question is, does anyone else have a squier like this? I'm no Fender expert but I've never seen another one with this headstock, and it came with the Floyd rose II and tuning locks as well. The serial # is E307863. In my opinion it's always played and sounded great, better than any other squier i've tried. I've always loved the feel of the neck too. I tried to look it up on the internet with no success. Anyone with info on this? Thanks.

Righht after I posted I found that this might be a HM (heavy metal) squier, maybe the HM3? Still would love any more info anyone might have.

Here is mine. What information are you looking for? Mine is an '89 HM III. I also owned one in '87 that was Mighnight Wine. They come equipped with a Floyd Rose Licensed Locking Tremolo (my current one had a modification on it, it is an Orginal Floyd Rose). It has 500k pots, 5 way selector switch, and Powersound Pickups. Super hot and built for Metal. I payed $300 for my first one and $89 for this current one. Funny thing is the tremolo on my current one is worth more than the guitar.

I have always loved this series and the Fender HM series, but not everyone was a fan.

Thanks for the info, that's pretty much what I was looking for! I'm probably in the wrong forum To say this, but i never was a huge fender guy, so I don't know many details about strats and squires. I respect them, I just have never really been too into playing them. Except for this squire for some reason. Always loved it. Weird, right? I'm not a metal guy either, I play rock (some heavy) and blues on les pauls mostly. I just always thought this thing had great sound and playability, esp. for the price. Anyway, after years of it being packed away, I just replaced the selector switch, cleaned up some of the wiring, put on some new knobs, a little wipe down and a re-string, and now I can't wait to rock this thing at my rehearsal space for a bit tomorrow!

And where can I get a good guitar for $89!!

I had been looking for another Squier HMIII for several years to get back that feel and tone for several years. I found this one on Guitar Center's on line used guitar section. I love finding gems like this.
