Yep. The only guitar I ever bought that didn't need touching was my rather expensive Ibanez and I bet that was a fluke. If you were going for that classic Gilmour vibe & tone, imagine trying to pull it from one of those Brawley guitars. No thanks Plug your CV into any decent amp and BOOOOM, your pretty close.

well i am getting there i have the guitar a pretty good amp and some half decent pedals, its the playing that lets me down  but yes you are right about the sound get that amp set right and the pedals in the right combination and away you go, some floydian slips appear occasionally

I do like how the high E on the Brawley is nicely placed over the neck yet the low E is clinging on for grim death  Poor construction there, bad neck alignment probably. I'd be interested to hear it. Any good video's showing the different pickup positions ?

Honestly I don't see this model as a viable CV alternative.

It looks to me like it took a flyer down some stairs or was thrown! I haven't gone in and fixed the angle of the neck yet. It intonates perfectly and it's playing and sounding too good or I'd have dug right in and "fixed" it. For now, I just have to be very accurate when placing my finger on the E string. Can't complain for $79.00! I may just leave it the way it is, we'll see!

I'll post a pic of the 224 HT behind it when I get a chance, that one's purrrrfect, the same as the one in the vid!

The 124 HT in the photo is a good alternative to a CV tele. You get a humbucking monster with some really sweet tele tones when you pull the coil tap, think...Roxane, pulls it off perfectly. Quite a value, good luck finding one!

As soon as I am ready, I'll do some recordings.

so it looks like lady luck hasn't shone on you this time, yet again you buy without trying, and it arrives damaged, the necks out of line, but you would be prepared to fix this problem, but wasnt prepared to fix the Squiers when they arrived damaged? come on pull the other one its got bells on.

If that was a squier in your eyes that would be a bad enough defect to make it unplayable.

About the same price as a second hand affinity strat, but thats not CV territory.

I know why dont you take it to pieces and put in a box in the cupboard with the CV's

I have a Squier that came in a box from Best Buy! I think it's a great beginners guitar and I'm planning on keeping her forever! Hate on! :)

No, we knew it was heavily damaged before we got it. We got it for parts but found it's a strong, strong guitar, as I suspected. I haven't played a bad Brawely yet -- a testament to the excellence of Asian luthiers when given the right materials and enough time to properly finish an instrument.

No. If a defective squier played as well as a broken brawley, I'd play the squiers too.

About the same price as a second hand affinity strat, but thats not CV territory.

...the affinty strats pale in comparrison to the Brawely -- even when the brawley is heavily damaged -- a feckin' tank n' *precision* tone machine all in one.

...if it ain't broke, don't fix it. It's perfectly playable even in that condition!

Ok I'll stop for now, it's like a mauling or shooting fish in a barrel. All these CV vids were the first ones I found. I didn't go searching through hundreds of clips. I think it just speaks for itself.

Here's the vid that sold me on trying out the CV 50:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xN1-gQsHrMo

What showed up at my door was a whole nother story! The poor things were just wrecked, never should have made it out of the factory...

About the vid you posted, I'd like to see the headstock! The guitar had a crisp, loud, and bright treble and middle with good pinch harmonics and good sustain, but was weak on the wound strings, not much punch or texture, long bloom, short sustain, the upper lows were okay when he played higher up the fretboard. Excellent player!

more fabrications somewher, you told us you were getting a brawley but you never mentioned the defects. You purchased squiers they arrive defective but repairable, but you bin them, you purchse a brawley it arrives defective you talk of repairing it. confirming the fact that you just dont like squiers regardless of defects, which is fine but why try and justify it to us, we dont need convincing.

Much the same as squiers are, but the only reason squiers and brawleys are compared are because kieth brawley used to work for squier, in actual fact the brawley you have and a squier strat that everyone compares it to are the horse and zebra of the guitar world, completely different animals. But as far as you are demonstarting build quality wise there is no difference because you have purchased yet another defective guitar.

not when you compare these two videos it doesnt. A "tank" that suggests it is heavy and cumbersome, no thanks. tone machine? show me a video of it screaming like a strat, and not being thrashed the4n you can call it a tone machine but all the videos i have seen it lack any tone apart from flat bassy heavy metalish tones, which it seems the guitar seems to suit, but not my cup of tea.

But it is and you said you might, you arent sure yet. But thats one thing i am are sure about, is that you arent sure about anything.

...you need to see a shrink. You are attempting to alter my reality based on delusions in your head.

Some weird thinking going on these days.

I had an incredible time playing the Brawley tonight! The squiers...just sitting there, not worth playing even as compared to a thrashed Brawley.

...the 2010 Hwy 1 is curing nicely, it sounds so much better than it did fresh off the factory line!
