I have browsed until my eyes hurt and have not been able to identify a "Fender" bass I recently acquired. It is a typical Jazz bass in appearance. The headstock has the Fender logo and a serial number (S732327) underneath but does not have Jazz Bass or anything else afterward. There are no identifying marks of any kind anywhere else inside or out. The neck is bound and the fretboard was factory stained to appear as ebony etc. The pick up covers have E.P.B. on them. After some re-soldering, new strings and set-up it sounds and plays pretty good. Kind of bright like a vintage Rickenbacker bass. It's obviously an older instrument, but still in fairly decent condition. Any ideas as to what its origin might be would be appreciated.
