I found a Squier by Fender in a pawn shop years ago. It's made in U.S.A., has the following serial # on the headpiece: E 901837. It has a rosewood finger board, 4 bolt neck, whammy bar, 5 position switch, black w/ white 8 screw faceplate.

It is, quite literally, and amazing playing and sounding instrument. Another strat owner told me it might be rare.

What can you tell me about this guitar?

USA SquiersSome USA made Squiers have a serial number with a E = Eighties (1980s) prefix, and some have a serial number with a N = Nineties (1990s) prefix. Some USA made Squiers also had a 000XXX serial stamp on the neckplate with no letter prefix and no serial number on the headstock.

USA Squiers were made for less than a year spanning 1989 and 1990 before production of Squiers went back to Mexico.

I wouldn't get too excited about the value of a Squier. It's still a Squier not a Stratocaster USA model.

Enjoy your guitar and remember you spent a lot less money than one of those outrages American Strats and practically got the same thing.

I have come across 2 possibilities for your Squier. 1st, if it is an original USA Squier it is worth well over £500.00 GBP in the UK, That's about $810.00 USD. 2nd, I have also matched the serial number to that of a Japanese model made between 1984-1987 ?.
Now I'm not saying it is a $@! model, but the decals do get altered from time to time, and even if it is a $@! model, it is still worth around £400.00 GBP in the UK. Keep it , it will become more rare. and increase in value.

Not quite, they were made in America but not with American parts. It's worth keeping hold of though as they're quite rare.
