Hi all,

I was having a clear out and was about to put my old Fender Squier Strat on gumtree/craigslist for £35/$55. I was looking for some examples of ads to describe it and found it may be worth a little more than I expected.

Any ideas on what I should try to sell it for? Or any info (wood etc) which I could put on the add? From what I've read it's from 1996 and Korean built (CN serial no)
It's well used with the odd scratch but nothing's ever changed on it other than the strings. Those probably twice in 15 years but that's more of a fear of messing with it than not needing to though.

Many thanks for any info. I hope to find it a good home.

I asked Guitar Center about mine and their bluebook listed it as $50 retail. Which meant I would get even less. Unless someone wants to do you the favor of giving you more for it because they are in love with it I don't think you will get much.

As far as the strings, if you change one at a time you won't mess anything up. You really shouldn't leave strings on too long after they die. Squier wood is not that resonant.

I had one of those, bought in '96, same color. I gave it away in '10 for $150.
