Hi there

I inherited a Squire Strat' last year (i'm a drummer by trade) and I have just put some new strings on - Ernie Ball BEEFY SLINKY - 11,15,22p,30,42,54. So they are quite a heavy gauge.

However the strings have now lifted the bridge/tremolo forward, so that it's sticking up from the body at a raised angle and has 'locked' the bridge from movement. I've been told that this can be solved by fixing extra springs to the tremolo unit. Where do I get these springs from, can I order them online?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :-)

Thanks

Your local guitar store should have some in their 'parts' buckets..... 8)

You could also tighten the screws a bit at the claw in the back rout. That will pull the bridge back into position.

If you don't have the time or patience to go to a store to look for them, you can also use the angles to increase tension. Here's what I did on one of my Mexistrats:

Or give the 2 screws on the spring plate a few more turns.
