Myself and a number of others on different forums have noticed that many online retailers are either out of all Squier Standard Teles, or they only have a limited color selection. So are there changes being made to the Squier Standard Teles in regards to color options and price, or is it being discontinued?

PLEASE LET SQUIER AND TELE LOVERS KNOW!

Thanks.

I need to bump this because on another forum, someone mentioned that they got an Antique Burst Tele on the net and the person at that vendor said that either the Antique Burst finish and/or the model was being discontinued, and I need to know, and I think others here need to know as well....

Eh, it may just be a question of outright sales.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think Fender's been moving a ton of these lately. (I guess we can all thank country artists like Vince Gil and Brad Paisley for that one! Thanks, guys! Now no one can find a Squire tele 'cause they're being bought out like mad!))

Checked w/ MF as they were no longer listing Squier Standard Tele in Walnut Satin. Cust. service said they expect to have some come in mid March. Maybe Squier is just catching up w/ demand.

Thanks for the info JohnH. I was also thinking that if it wasn't being discontinued, that they may cutting down on the finish options. That seems to be the case as on another forum someone mentioned that Antique Burst is being discontinued as well. I think they'll probably just be selling Vintage Blond, Black, and hopefully Candy Apple Red in the near future. The new Vintage Modified guitars mainly just had 2 color choices, the VM basses only come out in one color, sonow I just think Squier is just narrowing down the color options on the Standard line now too...

Have a Standard Squier Fat Tele. Excellent. Just waiting to order Standard Walnut Satin. With the great prices I can't help but get another one!

I have 3 Fat Tele because they are excellent guitars. Just ordered a Black & Chrome Tele.

As far as Walnut Stain, try here, maybe they use a different distributor/supplier than MF, and maybe theirs has some in stock:
http://www.worldmusicsupply.com/cart/de ... 2-1200-592

I've ordered from them before, and are very professional.

Thanks for the tip!

Do you find that you need to turn the bass EQ down on the amp when using the neck bucker on the fat tele?

Actually I use a Epiphone Valve Junior head mainly with my Fat Teles, and there's only a volume knob on that amp. It took me awhile to get the perfect balance between the neck and bridge pickups, but the humbucker is pretty loe to the guitar. If you fret both the high and low E strings on the 22nd fret, I measure about 3mm between the pickup and the bottom of the string. Maybe try that out?
