I don't care for Teles much but whatever makes you happy. First decide what you are going to use it for and what sound you expect then work on it till it gives you what you want. If I had one I'd install a humbucker with a Bigsby Trem. Check out YouTube if you decide to go that route. It doesn't seem too difficult.

yeah buddy, tele with a humbucker in the neck and a single coil rail in the bridge topped off with a bigsby! that's how my tele is set up ad it sounds great. only issue is the bigsbys are a pain in the butt to string up. also after a while, you must tighten the tram arm nuts on the bigsby to keep the slack off of it. but tons of fun none the less!

Nice guitars and amps. Your white strat looks like my Squier and I have that same Morley pedal. What are the Fender pedals? The rest of my pedals are DOD distortion and Tuna. I run the Tuna to two different amps, clean for my Vox and distortion/chorus for my cheap Crate. I'm still setting it up.

Nice setup, you've got some great tone available.

Here you go. Sorry about the crappy playing and the video got messed up but you can hear when I switch from on amp to another. Note: I have to lower the volume on the Vox otherwise both sound. The Vox is not using pedals and the Crate is only using the Boss Chorus. Hope you can see this,

the strat was a "squier bullet" but I hated the neck, so the only one I could afford was a MIM lefty. I also upgraded the pups to GFS 60's overwound set and a brass trem block. the FENDER pedal is a tuner. I just did the "keely mod" to the DS1 (awesome!) with a true bypassed behringer phaser, boss SD1 for boost and a cool chorus made by johnson. I got rid of the FENDER BLUES DELUXE RI, traded it for a '78 FENDER STUDIO BASS AMP. The peavey delta blues 115 is now paired with a 4 x 10" marshall JCM600 cab loaded w/ celestion golds. I'm thinking of doing a stereo setup and running split effects into 2 amps, but I want to find me a good modulation stereo pedal. keep it rocking dude, I'd like to see some pics of your setup.

take it sleezy,
bob-o

I'll try and get a pic this weekend. It's just some pedals hanging on the wall over my amp for now. I'm glad you are moving onto heads and cabs because that is where the pro sound is at and a lot easier to stack. You will probably move onto rack effects after that.

I just ordered GFS hot rails. Hope they sound better than my Duncan Performer. You can check out some pics and GFS comments on Myspace which I don't want to print here at Fender world. I have to record some sound after I rewired the EVH and RR.

Later,

oh man, I wish the FENDER STUDIO BASS was a head, it's a combo with a 15" speaker, 24"w x 28"h x 10"d and 101 pounds. the plus side is 200 watts point to point wiring with (3) 12AX7, (1) 12AT7, (1) 12AU7 and (6) 6L6 power tubes, IT'S A BEAST! I may convert to a head and pair with a 4x12 cab I have. I'm not a big fan of rack effects, I like to have pedals placed all about. I do like to mod the hell out of my stuff though. Awesome deal with the pups you're getting, if you have any questions, I may be able to help out. I just did a really cool circuit for my buddy's HSS strat, where I hvave a master volume and master tone. the lower tone is now a coil tap where you can adjust the know to dial in any amount of the second coil.

Thanks, I'll have to take you up on that offer because my EVH wiring didn't go too good and I had to take two pickups out and just use a volume pot. It worked out better because now I have two pickups extra and the guitar is more "plug and play". I need to wire my Rhoads but it sounds so good I don't want to mess with it. I'm working on an ash strat which I will be using the hot rail on, a homemade Alinco and oem for the neck. (I took an oem and pulled the poles and magnets out replacing with alinco.) Not sure if it works. I'll use that for the mid.

I think separate cab and rack are the way to go. You always need pedals but having a rack effects is a more reliable way to go at that wattage. Let me know how it goes.

Check out http://www.myspace.com/groomlakelincolnnv/blog for the run down on what I'm up to.

I could also use your help with my tube effects I was building but that's another far away project right now. It worked but very little sound came out to my amp. I was hoping to learn about tubes so I could build a blues breaker. It was a fun project.

Keep in touch,
