Remember that prices are relative; what 199.99 bought in the 70s, 80s, 90s, might now be worth 300.00 or 400.00 maybe 800.00 or more but that much guitar purchased today might be 6, 7 or 9 hundred so can we say it gained in value? what about inflation vs collectablity?
Do values go up when the same model has an increase from the manufacturer?
Squires are fast becoming the bargain in Fender guitars; getting better all the time; i plan on a jag or jazz soon.

I know it was said before, but why worry about what it's worth?

To me, the most important "value" is can I afford to buy it after I play it and know that I like it?

I have a MIM Strat and a Squier Standard Strat, out of the two I find I like playing the Squier more, both stay in tune and sound about the same, but there is a "smoothness" for lack of a better term that just makes the Squier my "grab-it" 6 string when I play.

But if I tried to sell 'em simultaneously, which would fetch more $$?

Value is in the hands of the beholder......to mutate a famous saying.
