I played this at GC last week and it sounded really good, even with the 6505 amp! Im new to tele's so on the intonation I have to kind of wing it by using just the one screw for each saddle? Guitar center had a new one right in the box still so i was happy, the other store had a chip on it. I got the 75 dollars off coupon! My GF bought it for me so that was really cool. I just have to set the neck a tad and the pup. Any tips on getting the best sound will be help full. And what kind of strings fender uses?? brand?

i couldn't tell you how to setup a tele but they show on the GC Website that the strings are .009 - .049 nickel plated steel. And I'm assuming it's one of Fenders line of strings

Great find, can't beat the Classic Vibe when it comes to bang for the buck...

I have been using D'Addario 10s on my CV50...

I have really enjoyed mine. Never being one who can leave anything alone for very long, mine has gone through some changes :)

I also have been amassing parts to put together a Partscaster around a Squier CV50 Tele body and Warmoth neck.

The pickguard is from Warmoth, their Tortoise shell.

My CV50 has a Toneshaper in it from Acmeguitarworks.com. The pots though are still 250k

It is great for someone like me who likes to tinker.

I can change pickups, cap values, etc. without doing any soldering.

I am also going to be putting one in the Tele Partscaster I am working on now.

Nothing beats a Fender tube amp.
8)

And these CV 50s are amazing.

Who told them quartersawn necks are SOP?

They are pretty.
The AIII pickups are articulate. Not muddy at all?
I was amazed. The cheap switch and pots, body material et cetera are easy to live with and in the case of the electronics easily replaced, if desired.
I can't see a good reason to "step up" to an MIA Tele...yet.
