I was wondering if you guys could offer any advice on what I should modify on this affinity strat I got a few years ago. It was pretty much my first guitar and I haven't done anything with it in a while since I got two new guitars since then. I'm thinking of modding it but I'm not sure where to start or what parts I should get. I'm thinking new pickups and a new bridge but I'm not sure what else. If any of you have modded an affinity before I would love to hear what you did.

If it was me I put some Dimarzio humbuckers in their with 500k pots a three way swicth. new pickguard and tuners and a new nut. If you change the bridge I would upgrade the turners for sure. Thats what I think everyone is different and parts cost more than the guitar but its fun

I haven't modded my affinity yet, but I want to. I plan to change the pickups and wiring, the tuners and nut. I don't need to change the bridge on mine as I am not a huge tremolo user, so I keep mine hard against the body.

I need to change the tuners as mine rattle, and I prefer humbuckers in the bridge position, with either rails type or stacked humbuckers in the middle and neck positions. I'll change the nut to a Graphtech one, or I may end up putting a complete set of Graphtech components on it (saddles, nut and string trees), which worked well for a strat copy I have.

Another essential mod (for me) is Schaller strap locks. My guitars that I play on a regular basis all have these.

I think the squiers have all the makings of great guitars, and can be easily customised to your own tastes, and nobody is going to get upset about you "destroying" a classic guitar.
