My Squire Pro-Tone say's "Crafted in Korea"...They were very specific about using the word "crafted" instead of "made" because they wanted to imply "craftmanship" in the fabrication...I have not heard of a USA Squire, If it is so, I would believe it to be rare. Good luck getting info.

squire was made briefly in the USA during 1990 and again in 1994. the one I have has a serial # that starts E9. Which is a 1989 serial number but fender stated that it wa not uncommon for the numbers to overlap years. I havent found out a whole lot other than that. hope it helped.

Your guitar was indeed "assembled " in the USA. When the Mexico plant had a fire in the late 80's,Fender resumed assembling them in the U.S..The first issues had the serial stamped on the neckplate, the later produced had the serial next to the decal on the headstock, the numbers usually started with a "N"......the next number would dtermine the year......N0= 1990 N1=1991 and so forth. Some of the later USA Squiers were assembled from "Allparts" after market parts.
Please remember these were merely assembled in the U.S.. I don't think they were made beyond 1991 or 1992,hope this helps.
