they're not shown on the squier site yet.

while they look merely like new jagmasters, they appear to use the same Fender methodology of abominating the classic namesakes we all know and love.

is this $@!& for real?

from the pictures:

- 2011 Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar HH

  • 'Duncan Designed' Humbuckers
  • Upper Horn 3-way in place of rhythm circuit
  • Chrome Knurled (?) knobs in Vol/Tone orientation
  • Hardtail courtesy of ugly six saddle, strat/toronado derived bridge unit
  • Strat jack plate placement as seen on ugly $@! knock off offsets for years
  • 24" scale with rosewood fretboard and classic Jaguar headstock shape
  • White-button vintage style tuners
  • Fiesta Red with presumably inkjet tort

- 2011 Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster

  • Jazzmaster style single coil pickups
  • Upper Horn 3-way in place of rhythm circuit
  • Chrome Knurled (?) knobs in Vol/Tone orientation
  • Hardtail courtesy of ugly six saddle, strat/toronado derived bridge unit
  • Strat jack plate placement as seen on ugly $@! knock off offsets for years
  • 25.5" scale with vintage tinted maple(?) neck/fretboard and classic Jazzmaster headstock shape
  • White-button vintage style tuners
  • Butterscotch blonde finish with black pickguard/pickup covers

the jazzmaster is probably the better looking of the two, in that baja sort of fashion. to be honest, the jack, knobs, three-way placement and the bridge are #$@*&!% killing me.

I think they're cool. I'm glad to see Squier releasing some new models. 8)

These do look nice especially the buttrscotch blonde Jazzmater, but will want to try one nefore I buy. Not sure I like the look of the hardtail though. Would prefer a Blacktop style. Found one on web £255.00, not bad if the quality is there.

I think it's great that Squier are finally doing Jaguars and Jazzmasters.
I think the Jaguar just looks like a newer Jagmaster.

WHERE'S THE CHROME!!! ??? !!!

I do like the looks of that Jazzmaster. Blonde w/ blackguard! awesome.
I would buy one just for the maple fretboard!!

The bridge looks like it has bronco style saddles. They are a $@!&* to intonate. I would probably swap the bridge for a toronado bridge, if it will fit.

I am mos def gonna score one of the blonde JMs.

The strat jack doesn't bother me. The lack of vibrato is a bit bothersome, but it can't be too hard to mod for a bigsby.

p.s. this is my first post. I used to have another account, but it's gonzo I think.

I've been hoping for a while now for a Squier Jazzmaster, definitely gonna be checking this out, if I can get my hands on one!

Howdy all...I'm usually hanging out in Fender strat land but thought I'd chime in on the Squire Modified Vint. Jazzmaster...

Just came across it and WOW... looks like a nice little guitar... especially the butterscotch/maple combo. Obviously I'd like to play it before purchasing one. I've always been something of a guitar snob but I'd be more than happy to rock one of these if they play and sound decent. I liked the idea of the bigsby mod someone had as well...that would be S W E E T !!!

Anyone have one of these yet?
