Well, I think it's time I move up from my Squier Affinity. I was thinking about going with a Squier Deluxe in daphne blue. However, I worry about the body being basswood. I know there is slight tonal differences compared to ash or something, but I'm more concerned with it being such a soft wood and denting easily. Anyone who has a Squier Deluxe (or any basswood guitar for that matter), how is it holding up?

I personally love Basswood bodies. Sure they might dent easier, but all guitars get their dings sooner or later. It's not so much softer that it's gonna all of the sudden fall apart on you. Just keep it in a case a little more often and you should be good. Basswood bodies have a way of really allowing the pickups to shine. Lately I've been happier with Basswood bodies than any other wood type. I say go for it.
