My japanese strat has an active Bartolini pickup, bought it that way, and the whole guitar picks up AM radio. Usually sports talk, but I've heard the gospel being preached through my mesa before. Weird, huh.
I'm going to upgrade it to some seymore duncans soon.
Just I thought I'd share.

I solved the whole issue by putting in some SC noiseless pups in it. It sounds like a strat again now. Anyone want to buy some Japanese squier guts that pickup AM radio? ha.

A friend of mine had Custom Shop 54's in his vintage 70's strat and complained about the same problem. I read somewhere that copper shielding can reduce interference with pickups like that. Anyone know something about copper shielding?

Ha thats really funny. But would suck if you actually had to play the guitar.
