I know that somewhere on the 'Net I saw P90 sized mounting rings made to mount humbuckers, just dont know which site. If I find it again I'll post the link.

I would just replace the stock P90's with the new TV Jones P90's. They have the same roar of a typical P90, but when you back off the volume you get an incredible clean sound... A sound you would expect from a TV Jones Pickup.

Tome Jones, the owner of TV Jones pickups was being interviewed at the last NAMM and he is very excited about bringing these to market because he isa huge P90 fan.... Not a bad guitar player either. You can see demo's of these pickups at www.tvjones.com

most "mini-humbuckers" will fit a P90 slot. That's what minihumbuckers were originally designed for was to be able to replace p90s. I know that I just bought a Squier Tele Custom II with p90's and they WERE quiet when the switch was in the middle position, but hum and buzz in either neck or bridge position, but now even in the middle position it buzzes like hell and doesn't stop when you place your hand across the strings. I did love the sound and was blown away by the quality of the guitar esp. the neck but the electronics are CRAP. It's going back TODAY! Too Bad. :x

Trade it in for the Tele Custom that has humbuckers. Those guitars don't cost much. I've got the P90 version as well. I wanted the P90s. I wouldn't change it.

I've also got one of the Tele Deluxes with P90s and the only time I find the hum annoying is if I am playing with too much gain. I think it does a good job with clean tones and that's what I use it for most of the time. I'm happy with it just the way it is. I have enough other guitars with regular humbuckers, including Teles.
