I just got a Squier Fat Strat and had a question about what came in the box. Along with the trem arm and a bag misc. wrenches there was a spring/coil. Is this normal and do I need to put this somewhere or is it just an extra part.

I searched the forums here but I seem to be the only goof who has no idea what to do with that part.

I knew the wrenches were for the rod but I wasn't sure about the spring. Thank you very much!

I think the Extra spring is for the trem, its just an extra as you may need it to keep the trem properly aligned, or some people prefer a stiffer feeling trem and use it, but its optional. The Large allen wrench is for truss rod adjustments on the neck, the smaller one is to adjust the action at the bridge.

Thank you for all the answers. It has been fun learning so far but I havn't even thought of touching the trem yet. I am still working on switching between chords smoothly.
