I picked up my new guitar as it came into the shop and straight out of the box. I didn't play it, because the neck looked straight and I know what they are like.. So, I took it home and restrung it with 10's and when I got it up to tune... I noticed that the action was perfect for me... I then checked the intonation and it was spot on. No rough spots on the fret edges... The guitar could have been taking out on a stage in a big arena and played... It sounds amazingly good. I thought I would mod it, but now I am thinking that there isn't much to do, except maybe a big block trem and possibly a bone nut. The locking tuners work well. All around this is the best bang for the buck in all of Fender. Amazing.

If you are on the fence... Go ahead and jump...

Congrats on the new guitar. I absolutely love my CV 60. IMHO the beat bang for the buck.

EGrier, How do you have the bridge setup. Is it flush with the body or raised up? Is the whammy bar totally functional or the way it normally is when you get a new guitar. I set mine up from a video on youtube that makes the whammy totally useable and the system works, but it is a pain in that $@! and takes longer to tune and the blidge is floating higher than I normally have it, which is flush to the body. I think I am going to go back to the bridge flush to the body and block the trem block and just use the strat like I normally use it. A whammy bar, for me, is a pain in the $@!.

What about you?

I have mine set up to float. Yeah, it took a bit to get it there but, I like it. When I first got mine, the trem was decked. I'm going to put 10s on it when I get the chance. So I might be going through this all again. But, it will be worth the effort. I also swapped the pickguard for a mint green. I think it looks better than the tortoise shell.
