Hi, I'm new to the forum and I have a question for you. I own a Squier Strat Affinity. The current neck has 21 frets, and I was wondering if I can put in a 22 fret neck. And also, how do I measure the scale of my neck. Thank you for your answers.

yeah, you can change the neck for a 22 fret neck as long as it is the same scale. you will probably have to re-do the intonation, though.
do you really need that extra note, though?

to determine the scale, measure from the nut to the 12th fret and double that figure. you should end up with 25.5". that is standard fender scale.

a smaller (or larger) scale neck will not work, even though it might physically fit. it will never intonate properly

If you look on www.warmoth.com, you can buy necks with fret extensions. This means that the fretboard extends over the pickguard. There is no other way of increasing the amount of frets without needing to do routing to the neck pocket of your guitar.

21 and 22 fret, 25.5 necks are interchangeable.

You can swap one for the other and your intonation should not be affected.

The Warmoth necks with the extension are 24 fret conversion necks.
They are designed to go on bodies that originally came with 21 or 22 fret necks.

I thought a warmoth as well, but I'm not willing to pay $300 for neck to put on a $150 guitar. For $200 more dollars you can buy a hell of a guitar.
