Can't find a thing on this monstrosity that I purchased used back in 87-88. The pics aren't that good, but I'll try and describe it best I can. It is a MIJ strat with a Schaller System I trem on it and locks above the nut. The fine tuner nobs have been removed so that I can replace them.

The N/B pickups poles are flush with the covers, however, the middle one has the center two poles staggered. I'm assuming that this is not a stock pickup.

No skunk stripe on the back of the neck and the tuning keys have Fender Japan stamped on the back.

The B/M pickup combo sounds really thin and tinny. The wiring (as you can hopefully see) is crap...but really, I'm just curious as to what year it was made and how common this configuration is. The SN is an E7 prefix.

My good camera broke recently, so these are not good photos taken by my not so good phone. lol. I took the pickup covers off and have it disassembled to a point because I'm about to start restoring it...or at least modifying it. This axe carries a lot of sentimental value.

Forum user CMack has one just like it:

Get in touch with CMack. Perhaps he can assist. By the way, an E7 serial number usually indicates a 1987 build date. And Fender guitars with rosewood fretboards typically do not have a skunk stripe. Good luck! 8)

I think I used to have a Squier sales brochure from around that time, but I could not find it the last time I was at my parents house. Though I remember seeing Strats with a similar style bridge in it... :(
