So the question is should I mod my Bullet or not.... It's a 2002 (I believe) with a single humbucker and single volume knob

Here's some of my ideas:
-Replacing the stock humbucker (with something like a Gibson Burstbucker or 57 Classic)
-Adding a tone knob (because I hate how thin it sounds sometimes)
-Adding another pickup in the neck position (either another humbucker, a NY Mini, a P90 or Tele style neck pick-up)
-Adding another pickup would also mean adding a pick-up selector switch
-Swapping out the neck for an all maple one with CBS style headstock

I absolutely love this guitar and want to make it as good as I can but I also see it as a project guitar that's like a blank canvas to experiment on

What do y'all think?

If you were going to just replace the pickup I would say go for it. But you are talking about a few hunded dollars worth of modifications, for that amount of money you could just buy another guitar for your collection.

Of course you have to be happy with your guitar so if you feel the need to upgrade, then upgrade it.

I have two bullets that I have modified. Even more than pickups putting nice tremelo block will improve the sound. I have one with brass and one with steel.

If your squier has a thin trem bar, get rid of that bar and get a steel bridge and fat trem bar from GFS. good stuff and good prices. In my personal experience.

Bridges/trem sets.

Also look at the bottom at the stainless steel bridge blocks, really nice!

I say if you want a wide variety of tones put the tele neck pick up in. that just my opinion though
