I'm thinking of getting the J5 Squier Tele and was wondering for those of you that have one, do you like the pickups or do they need to be removed and replaced? I love Seymour Duncan pickups and wanted to put a JB in the bridge and a '59 in the neck. Will this guitar allow this or do the pickups have to be Fender? I had a 72 thinline classic and could not put Seymour Duncans in. They wouldn't fit. I hope this isn't the case with the J5 Tele. Thanks for the help.

I love the stock pickups. They are the reason that the J5 is my favorite telecaster even over my Fenders. But if you do decide to swap them out, the Seymour Duncans will work fine. They don't have to be Fender/Squier; and it shouldn't need any routing to fit. Just try them out stock first. The only negative thing I have to say about the J5 is that it is crazy heavy for some reason. Good luck.

How can I remove pick up? How can I remove the bridge from J5?
