I assume my Squier Standard Cherry burst is not a Special Edition because it does not say it anywhere. I have the Rosewood fret board and it's an 06. BUT on ebay somebody has the same guitar and says it's a limited Special edition. I see at the Fender Squier website a guitar like mine and it says Special Edition. Thanks for your time.

I also have the Squier Standard Cherry Burst Special Edition. I love it. I can't answer your previous question regarding the wood, but it is definitely heavier than my Affinity and thicker. I love the wood grain on mine and the cherry burst is fantastic.
I did a lot of research regarding the special edition designation and the only thing I can come up with is that I could not find a standard in cherry burst/mint green that was NOT designated as special edition. It wasn't necessarily 'limited'. I know it doesn't help much. My take is that it is a special edition even if it doesn't state it on the guitar anywhere. Either way, I really like it. Sounds fantastic with my Champion 600...

By the way, mine is an '04 model.

I agree, It's a great guitar more ways than one. I love the grain also. At first I wasn't too thrilled about the mint pickguard etc, It's growing on me though. For sure it's heavier than an Affinity, That's why I wanted to know for sure what it is. Well I suppose it's like having a car and you don't know if it's a 4,6,8, cylinder. lol
Yes I've tried to research it too, But i got conflicting info. lol But I also agree, All I found was the same thing as you. Special Edition's that looked like mine. lol Well thankds for the reply, Now I know I'm not the only one. lol

I got mine from Sweetwater several months back. According to their specs, it is an Agathis body. I believe that was on my pickguard label as well. I do recall that "Special Edition" was also on the pickguard label.

See I bought mine used and maybe I can email the former owner and ask about the label. Thanks for the idea!! It just seems weird that with just the little bit of added wood compared to my Affinity it weighs a lot more. It's almost similar to my Epiphone Standard Les Paul. Hey your not Wanda Jackson are you? Just checking. lol
