Hello all. I have a 2008 hot rails strat that i want to upgrade. Going to put 69 pick ups in. Main prob is what i want to do with the neck. Tried an American standard the other day and fell in love with the maple neck. Felt really good and seemed to help me play a bit cleaner if you know what i mean. So for those in the know. Would it bolt straight on? Not sure where to measure to make sure. Thanks all.

If I may tell you a big truth here......

You can dump all the money in pick-ups and new pots, upgrade all you want, and that squire will still be worth the same amount as if you did nothing to it.

Save the money, don't upgrade it, just get the American one you like and sell the other on e-bay. Or keep it as a back up.

In the long run, you will be money ahead and happier.

I have to agree with Jeffytune on this one. It is one thing if the guitar plays like a dream and you want to up-grade it...but if just do not like it all around, save your money and go for the American Standard you played.

the problem is that you will end up spending $200 or more on a good neck The other problem is that the neck pocket may not be perfect. I have a squier myself and I love it, but don't think I would spend the money on placing a US neck on it.
IMO, have you tried a mim strat, because your may find that for a couple of bucks more than a US neck you could find a used mim strat.
I have a vibe60s squier that I upgraded the pickups with texas specials, but the main reason i did this is because I could take them out and put them into another guitar without worrying about a perfect fit. With a neck, you may find it may be more trouble than its worth
