I picked up a Squier Deluxe Strat and its pretty dang sweet. I am replacing the Duncan Designed pickups (they arent too bad) with some CS 69's that I had laying around. My question is - are the deluxe strats cavities already shielded ? When i took the pickguard off I noticed that the cavities are painted blackish and there is a ground from the cavity to the pot so i am wondering if its already shielded. So far I shielded the pickguard and am wondering if I need to do the cavities as well ??????? any help is greatly appreciated.

that is shielding paint in there. The Deluxes, VMs, and CVs are pretty well shielded from the factory

i used the shielding tape on the pickguard so will that work in conjucture with the shieled paint in the cavities or does the shielding have to be all the same/consistent throughout to work properly, ie - shield paint for cavities and pickguard or shielding tape for the caivities and pickguard?? thanks again for any help as i am just tryin to get this guitar done correctly.
