If its a squire bullet from the early 80s its made in korea and a great guitar. You will find squiers made in korea japan and mexico. There different series of squiers made in each country some are a lot better then others. The bullet series are great. I have a early 80s bullet made in korea I gave 125.00 for mine.

Actually this isn't entirely accurate. The first Squier bullets were made in Japan and were apart of the SQ series. Production later moved to Korea in the mid 80s, and certain changes were made to the design of the bullet. Also Fender Japan has been around since 1982, so whoever told you FJ didn't exist in the 80s was misinformed. They are pretty nice guitars, and vary in configuration. The one I had had a Tele neck and Stratish shaped body with no contours. It was hardtail string thru bridge, with two humbuckers and coil taps. There were SSS versions, and even some with tremelos

Yogi's right. Yours is an SQ series MIJ. You should have a serial number on the back that begins SQ. The bodies are solid basswood. The pickups should have all white covers with no holes and it is either s/s/s or h/h. It should also have a gloss tele neck on a modified strat body that is non-contoured and has a jack plug in that is directly on the pg. These sell normally on average around $200 to $250. I have had two. One was s/s/s and the other h/h. Both of mine came with tremolos. I think they are great guitars. They are a little different than your main stream strat but definitely great players.
