I have HSS and there's 3 pots I would like to replace. Ok I was thinking of 250 pots, But one PU is a Humbucker and I heard 500 is for humbuckers. What's the right configuration for this? Thank you.

Suek,

The last time I did wiring work on my guitar (replaced a pot and changed a single coil to a humbucker) I took pictures of the orginal wiring to reconnect. There is also an extensive wiring list on this site. Pick the diagram you want to rewire your Squier. The only pot I replaced when I switched things out was the volume control from the 250k to 500k. I left the 250k tone pots just the way they are.

I know there are not any Squiers on the list, but if you want your Squier wired like a Fender, this is the way to go.

Thanks very much, I appreciate it. I was wondering if all pots should be 250 since I have one humbucker. You know 500 for humbuckers and 250 for single coils. I just can't picture a set up for this, Since there's a pot for tone and 2 for volume. Thanks again.

What guitar do you have? Most Fenders and Squier Strats have 1 volume and 2 tone pots. In most Strat models, the Humbucker is not connected to a tone pot, except in Highway 1, American Special, and a few other select models. Ususally it is the bridge and middle pickups connected to the tone pots. And unless you have super hot single coil pickups or an HH model, you should not need anything more than a 250k for the tone pots.

Just wondering?

I have 2000 Squier Affinity Squier Strat. It used to be SSS, The former owner switched it HSS.
Wow, I pictured a tone pickup for each, Say including the Humbucker. That's fascinating. Thanks very much. Oh yes another thing, When I brought it home I took a part the face plate. The Humbucker only had the letters "SAR B". I have no idea what company makes that. lol I already spent awhile looking online. Maybe the "A" is Alnico.I found out they Chinese. Here's the closest thing I found: http://www.corsair-music.de/product_inf ... -NECK.html
