About 2 months ago I bought a Squire Tele from my buddy for 40 bucks.
[ His son went for an SG ] Am I crazy? This thing quickly became my #1
it replaced my others that cost 30 or 40 times more. Now I'm thinking about trying one of the new Thineline Squires. Has anyone else had this happen or is this 40 dollar Tele 1 in a million I mean do they all sound this good. The one other bonus is Ijust leave it on the stand all the time and don't have to worry about it. So give me you're feedback and experiences I may never go high dollar again. :)

I have found that budget guitars just keep getting better. I live to swap stuff out anyway, so Squier's have been a great jumping off point for me for a while. My #1, aka La Bete Noir, is a Squier Standard Series Strat with EMG active pick ups.

I also created a Jimmy Page Tribute Les Paul out of a Jay Turser LP for slightly less than the 15K US Gibson is asking for thier model :).

Cheap guitars are awesome if you like playing with them like I do!

My #1 is a Squier Affinity Strat. I swapped out the pickups for Texas Specials and it sounds amazing. :D

I started playing guitar in the mid 80s, and lets just say that these days, price and/or country of origin/manufacture are not as much of an issue as they may have been in the past...In fact, I don't see myself ever buying any guitar that costs more than $400 after finding many great guitars in the $100-400 price range...

I wouldn't agree that all reasonably priced guitars are good, but the Squire Affinity Tele is a great guitar. As usual, you might want to change the pickups. Or maybe not. :)
