Are there lefty vs right handed pickups, or are they just flipped? Thinking about an upgrade for my Affinity to some Texas Specials, then it dawned on me there'd be an issue.

I gotta say, it can suck to be a left handed guitarist. The chord diagrams and such have to be reversed in your head. Although there are some good websites that actually publish lefty chord diagrams, it doesn't help you when you find ones that are not reversed......kind of makes it harder.

The guitar selection especially in the used market sucks. I went to the Guitar Expo in Orlando and out of the hundreds of guitars for sale there were maybe 5 lefties. OK, rant over...sorry.

It is possible to flip them, HOWEVER, you will get a subtley different sound than a right hand guitar with the same pickups. Hendrix didn't mind the difference in tone though:)

As for being able to get left hand pickups...I don't know, I've never tried.

Fender Vintage Noiseless pickups are available in a left-handed version; however, I don't know whether that is a common practice.

Depending on how your guitar's body is routed, it may not be possible to turn the pickups the other way around. 8)

Just for future reference, there is really no need, and some other forumites sometimes get annoyed, when you post the same topic/question in multiple forums....

My apologies for the double post....I didn't realize there was a pickup specific forum until after my original post on this one.

I don't have any problems with it, but some other users sometimes act like its the end of the world when you do stuff like that, and I just thought I'd give you a heads up :)
