As you can see its not a normal Squier, the guy who sold me the guitar said it was build aroun 1982 - 1984 with a rare wood for guitars, it also has more gibson like pickups..

Anyone has some more info?

Might be a Contemporary Stratocaster.

Now there's a question what on it is stock and what was modded.
What's the serial, anyway?

I am not a pro on dating Squiers, but that SN denotes a 2005 model. It is made in Indonesia in the Cort Factory. I get that information from the IC05 part of the SN. I have not seen one like it, it looks really nice. I may be a Partscaster, but I could be wrong. How do you like it? Does it sound good? I'd play it.

You're absolutely right, it's a Trans Start HH; it was the '82-'84 reference that got me towards the Contemporary Strat.
Mahogany body and Duncan designed humbuckers; looks great anyway.

Man Whoever sold that to you is either an uninformed idiot or he lied to you big time. That guitar is definitely not an 82-84 Since that would make it a JV or SQ serial, and that guitar doesn't look like it could be 30 years old. Like others have mentioned it is a Satin Trans HH, they were made a couple of years ago and aren't particularly rare. I believe they were made from some form of Mahogany. I hope you didn't pay too much for that one. Personally I think they are only worth $100-200 bucks

Spotted this guitar in my local music shop about 2 yrs ago. I was originally looking for an Epiphone Les Paul type as I wasn't keen on the way Strats look, with the pickguard and all. I was settling on a €300 Les Paul Special something or other, when I spotted this beautiful Squier hanging on the wall. Asked to see it and instantly loved it. I'm a girl and so I dislike heavy guitars and fat necks, this guitar felt wonderful in my hands. It was my first proper electric guitar (I spent a good year battering around on my brothers cheap old Yamaha till I broke it :L) but as my experience grows I'm really learning to appreciate the instrument.

I'd definitely recommend this guitar to anyone, beginner to intermediate. They're probably not all that easy to come by, as far as I know they're not being made anymore. I paid €280 at my local music shop, which I later found out is over-priced... I wouldn't pay more than €250, and not more than €200 if it's second hand.

Overall, I love my Squier Satin Trans Fat Strat (such a name) to bits and would certainly recommend it.

I've seen those body finishes on ebay, but don't recall the headstocks being red. I wonder if the neck and body are from two different guitars? Regardless it's a beautiful instrument and I hope you are enjoying it.
