Picked up a Squier J5 Telecaster today at a local Fender dealer and I must say that I'm very impressed. Now, I'm not a fan of John 5 nor do I play heavy metal or nu-metal or whatever it is they call it these days, but this is one sweet guitar. Beautiful double-bound alder body in black and chrome with matching headstock and humbuckers, and more importantly it sounds fantastic. This baby growls, but clean it sounds warm and crisp. It may look like a Tele designed for shredders, but it's perfect for blues, hard-rock, classic rock, punk, post-punk, indie-rock, etc.. Fit and finish is amazing too. Hard to believe it's made in China since it rivals the fit and finish of my MIM Fender Standard Tele.

Welcome to the Forum. Nice Guitar. I like the J5 guitars. Squier has stepped it up in the last 10 years. I own a CV 60 also CIC and it is awesome.
