I recently tried to replace the pots and 5 way switch in my squire strat affinity. Now i have nothing but a buzz noise when i turn up the vol control knob help!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cry:

You need to make sure you used the right valued and styled pot. If thats correct, then you'll need to recheck your wiring, and perhaps reflow some solder joints just in case you have a cold joint somewhere causing an 'open' in the wiring.

i recently done the same with my Squier Strat changed all the electrics to CTS Pots and switches wired it up and came across the same problem. The first time i checked it i found i had the wires to the jack round the wrong way solved that then discovered a cold solder joint. Once i cured that while scratchplate was still off i shielded the entire cavities with copper shielding. This improved the guitar no hum or buzz so i would recommend doing that too.

you were right i had the wires to the jack wrong. now it works thanks for the input
